Sociológia vedenia sa snaží "to situate philosophy as a knowledge producing enterprise within a sociologically informed understanding through which it is examined as a norm-structured, complex, socially and politically conditioned institution. The objective would be to account for social causality in philosophy in terms of the dialectic of the social construction of norms which inform disciplinary roles, structures, intellectual agendas, and practices through which, in turn, knowledge and norms are constituted, legitimated, and mediated as part of traditions of socially distributed knowledge of various kinds (subspecialities, styles, genres, etc.) carried by certain persons."
